Spirits are generally called mmuo; those with Chukwu, chi, and ancestors are generally believed to inhabit the land, so there is an obvious distinction between the physical world and the spiritual world. Spirit-icm ("to be spiritual") is held with religious awe and reverence; therefore, Africans are very superstitious and apt to worship.....(Pg 11)
